image I am passionate about heritage and how we share it with audiences. Since I was first taken to historic properties by my parents as a small child my imagination has been fired up by a curiosity to learn more and explore the past through those who have lived there.

I studied undergraduate history at the University of Kent, a module on National Heritage and Museums made me realise that a career in museums was the perfect amalgamation of my love for heritage and my passion for storytelling.

After leaving university I started my career at Canterbury Cathedral caring for their diverse collections. As I embarked on my Museum Studies Masters in 2015 I also moved to the post of Community Curator at Kent Mining Museum where I formed part of the small team opening the brand new NLHF funded museum telling the untold and often unknown story of Kent Coal.

Following this I moved to the historic Sandwich Guildhall museum with its fascinating collections. As Museum and Heritage Manager there I not only got to share the rich and unique history of the town but also to sit on committees which helped to steer and protect the towns growth, tourism and development.

In 2022 I rejoined the Kent Mining Museum project this time as the Museum Manager where I helped to restart the project and see it through its last tricky stages to completion and opening. After delivering the project on time and under budget I helped to steer it through it’s first year of being open to the public before taking on a new challenge and becoming Head of Collections at the Powell-Cotton Museum in Birchington.

All of these roles have given me an opportunity to grow and learn and the variety it has offered me has allowed me to gain experience in a broad spectrum of museum practice from governance to curatorship, to building delivery to working with funders and stakeholders.

My particular interest is working on contested heritage projects and can offer support in this area among other things.

I have fifteen years experience in the museum and heritage sector and can offer a broad selection of support and guidance or hands-on delivery depending on the individual requirements and needs of you or your organisation.
